PUTCO Foundation - Sport

PUTCO has been involved in sports development especially around the Soweto area, working together with the Soweto football Association. Recently, we have brought the Thebisile football association, in Mpumalanga on board. These two associations are affiliates of the South African Football Association (SAFA).

PUTCO under 15 Soccer Challenge, in Soweto, was initiated 9 years ago under the auspices of the PUTCO CSI Foundation. Its primary objective was to bolster the anti-crime initiatives by the South African Police Services and the Community Policing Forums in the greater Soweto.

Besides scoring well in mitigating crime among the youth in Soweto, The PUTCO Soccer Challenge has also produced two professional soccer players, Thulani Serero and Thulani Hlatshwayo. Both players are with Ajax Cape Town and they also play for national under 20.

PUTCO under 15 Soccer Challenge has received incredible support from the following soccer legends who played for big teams like Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, Yster   Khomane, Rider Mofokeng, Sreamer Tshabalala, Mike Ntombela and Ace Khuse.
